Director of Boarding

Mr Anthony Le Couteur

Welcome to what promises to be an exciting year ahead for Scots All Saints College and Boarding in 2020. I am delighted to be your Director of Boarding. Together with our team of dedicated Heads of House, we will be looking after your sons and daughters while they are living and learning at school.

There is no other more professionally rewarding role than being an educator in a school and leading a boarding community. Being entrusted to oversee the welfare, education, well being and overall development of the boarders and the wider student body is a substantial responsibility. Our priority is to build relationships with our boarding community where all can feel respected and valued.

What is your role at Scots All Saints College?

Director of Boarding and PDHPE Teacher.

What attracted you and your family to our College?

The opportunity to take on the role of Director of Boarding at a time in the College’s history that is very exciting. For my daughter, who will attend the College, the Middle School was a very attractive proposition where we know she will thrive.

What was your first job and what did it teach you?

My first job was as a PDHPE Teacher at Covenant Christian School in Belrose, Sydney. It taught me that relationships are the key to making a positive impact in the lives of young people we have the privilege to teach.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Spending time with my wife and our two children.

Who is an inspirational leader you admire?

Nelson Mandela – “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

What are some exciting things happening in boarding in 2020?

We have consolidated boarding into three houses. Thompson House will be the home to the Year 7-12 Boys, the Year 7-10 girls will live in Galloway House and our Year 11 and 12 girls will move into the newly renovated Ives House. With plans for the future to create a Senior boys boarding house to mirror the girls. This will allow us to best cater for the different needs of the boarding students as they move through the College.

What’s your favourite sport and who do you support?

As a PDHPE Teacher, I enjoy most sports but follow Liverpool in the English Premier League Football and hope that the Wallabies can improve under their new coach. I am also encouraged by the increasing coverage of women’s sport. Our female athletes dominate the world in so many areas.
